Oppo introduced a bunch of new products, including a new smartphone series, a pair of earbuds, and a tablet at its July launch event. The launch line-up was headlined by Oppo's Reno 8 series, which consists of the Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro. Both the models feature MariSilicon X NPU, and come with 80 W of SUPERVOOC charging. The Oppo Reno 8 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chipset, while the MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max chip powers the 8 Pro with Android 12.1 OS. Priced at Rs 45,999, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro takes on the likes of Realme GT2 Pro, Motorola Edge 30 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE.

Here's a quick spec comparison between the smartphones:

6.4-inch 120 Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X

Realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12

One UI 4 based on Android 12

Rear: 50 MP primary + 8 MP ultra-wide + 2 MP macro lens

Glazed Black and Glazed Green

Steel Black, Paper White and Paper Green

Stardust White and Cosmos Blue

White, Graphite, Lavender and Olive

When it comes to display, all four devices are impressive on paper, but the Realme GT2 Pro's 120Hz LTPO2 AMOLED could be a better option in terms of power savings, and thus stands apart. In terms of performance, all four smartphones offer the latest chipsets, but the Realme GT2 Pro again stands out due to flexibility in RAM and storage options.

While all the phones, except the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE offer a 50 MP primary camera, both the GT2 Pro and Motorola Edge 30 Pro come with dual 50 MP sensors. The Moto offering, however, stands out with a massive 60 MP selfie camera.

The GT 2 Pro also stands out in terms of battery with a 5,000 mAh setup, but the 80W SuperVOOC charging support with the Oppo Reno 8 Pro makes up for last ground and can charge the device up to 50 per cent in just 11 minutes, as per the company. It also offers reverse charging, which is a benefit if you're running low on power.

The real differentiator between the smartphones is the pricing. While all the smartphones fall under the Rs 45,000-Rs 50,000 range, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro's 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage model is priced Rs 45,999, whereas Motorola Edge 30 Pro is priced Rs 49,999 for its 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant, a potential deal breaker.

The Realme GT2 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE sit right in between the other two in terms of pricing at Rs 47,999, but the superior performance, battery, camera and flexible RAM and storage options of the GT2 Pro make it the best option among the four devices, in this price range.
