A daredevil husband and wife perched precariously on the edge of a rock face almost 5,000ft above a busy road.

Brave Mustafa Tor and his wife Berrin relaxed while overlooking the terrifying drop, after 'carefully inching' to the ledge and sitting down.

Mr Tor and his wife took the stomach-turning pictures of each other while visiting the Gülek Keep near Mersin, southern Turkey.

The 62-year-old admitted it was 'really scary' with his legs overhanging the rock face, but said it was worth it for the incredible view of the sunset he got.

Mr Tor, of Adana, also in Turkey, is seen in a blue coat, perched on the ledge before removing the coat and sitting in just his grey shirt and jeans.

Perilous: Berrin Tor sat on the rock as she was pictured leaning back against the sheer cliff, looking down on the busy traffic below

Precarious: Mustafa Tor sat on the edge of Gülek Keep in southern Turkey with his legs dangling over the edge of the well-known beauty spot

On the edge: Many locals and tourists visit Gülek Keep to check out the panoramic views around southern Turkey with many getting very close to the edge

His daredevil wife, 57, is seen leaning back against the cliff in a red jacket and cream trousers as she looks down on the traffic below.

Retired railway worker Mr Tor said: 'The Keep is a well-known place, but the trend of taking photos right at the edge has only really become popular in recent years.

'To reach the top you have to drive along a four mile dirt road to the Keep's gate and then take a ten minute walk.

'When we got there, we carefully inched to the edge of the rock. Once you're on the edge the nervousness goes away, but it really is scary to approach the edge.

'The fear of intensifies as you start to question what if the rock breaks or what if there's a strong wind.

'But once you are taking in the sights, any other thoughts disappear from your mind. You can see all around you and the sunset is especially beautiful.'

Gülek Keep is a well-known sot in the area for locals and tourists to view the panoramic views and get a breath-taking selfie.

Daredevils: Some intrepid visitors climb down right to the edge of the cliff and look down at the huge drop with many trying to take a dangerous selfie

Some sightseers were captured in one video posted on YouTube standing close to the edge and peering over the 5,000ft cliff edge.

Travel bloggers Vishnu Viswanath and Meenakshi Moorthy fell to their deaths at Yosemite National Park in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains on Sunday night.

The couple were pictured perilously close to the edge of the 800ft drop at Taft Point where there are no guards or rails to protect visitors.

Jishnu Viswanath said his brother, Vishnu, and wife Moorthy had set up their tripod near the ledge when they plummeted to their deaths.

Meenakshi Moorthy, 29, blogged about depression and spoke about mental health on social media before her death.

It's not 5,000ft straight down from that edge.
