The Northwestern Tigers proved their point early on Friday, taking a 46-0 lead just one play into the second quarter of their regular season home finale en route to a 62-0 romp in Maple.

Reid Kreuser and Kellin Trautt had two touchdowns apiece. Luke Sedin completed 7-of-9 pass attempts for 162 yards and three touchdowns.

Northwestern finds itself one win from its fourth unbeaten regular season in the last five years. That hurdle is next Friday at Bloomer.

Proctor scored first in the annual rivalry game for the Hammer on Friday, but it was all Hawks after that, as they scored 55 unanswered points.

Nolan Okstad's 1-yard rumble made it 6-0 in the early going but the Hawks began to ground and pound, scoring six rushing touchdowns. Josh Muelbauer had the first two, putting the Hawks ahead 13-6 in the early second quarter.

Rocco Ericksen scored from a yard out before Hermantown went to the air late in the half, getting a 17-yard connection from Alex Schott to Peyton Menzel to make it 28-6 at the half.

Four Hawks had at least 45 yards rushing led by 80 from Muelbauer on 13 attempts.

Schott threw for 136 yards on 9-of-11 passing with two touchdowns.

For Proctor, Okstad had 30 rushing yards on 10 carries and two catches for 21 yards.

The victory tips the balance to 36-35 in the Hawks' favor for the rivalry trophy.

A second-half sprint from Kollin Bonneville allowed the Lumberjacks to get the upper hand against a pesky Rock Ridge squad on Friday at Bromberg Field in Cloquet.

Cloquet held Rock Ridge to only 76 yards of offense on 35 plays but still found themselves behind when Isaac Flatley scored from two yards out in the last minute of the first quarter with the help of a short field from a blocked punt.

It took until the last minute of the first half for the Lumberjacks to respond, as Reese Sheldon called his own number on a 1-yard run with 26 seconds before the break. Brysen McLeod’s conversion run made it 8-6 at the break.

Bonneville pounced midway through the third quarter, scampering 62 yards to the house in what ended up being the last scoring of the night. Bonneville ran for 166 yards on 18 carries for Cloquet (4-2) on a night in which the Lumberjacks had 249 yards from scrimmage but were 0-for-9 on third down.

The Rangers had the stronger second half in a showdown of Iron Range unbeatens in the 9-Man ranks on Friday in Mountain Iron.

Kaleb Rinerson's 6-yard run had the visiting Tigers up 16-6 at halftime after the second of two successful Noah Sundquist conversion passes.

The Rangers outscored their opponents 28-8 after the break to turn the tables. Asher Zubich had touchdown runs from 3, 20 and 4 yards plus a pair of two-point conversions, one by ground and one by air. Damian Tapio also had a 9-yard scoring run in the third quarter.

Sundquist found Noah Asuma on a 53-yard strike to go with his first-quarter rushing touchdown.

No. 6 Deer River took advantage of Barnum’s five turnovers to defeat the Bombers in Barnum in a rematch of last year’s Section 7A championship game.

Running back Tygh Gullickson finished with one rushing and one receiving touchdown to lead the Warriors, while Ben Storlie added a rushing score from 13 yards out in the first half. Rhett Mundt added a scoop-and-score touchdown late in the third quarter.

Barnum fullback Cole Laitinen accounted for both touchdowns for the Bombers with a rushing score from 62 yards out and a 13-yard touchdown late in the first half.

The Giants came within three minutes of knocking off the undefeated Tigers, but a 1-yard dive from Nolan Anderson with about 2 1/2 minutes to play allowed 6-0 Rush City to claim its narrowest win of the year.

Cooper Levander had a pair of short touchdown runs, from 2 and 6 yards, to give Mesabi East a 15-8 halftime lead.

Andrew Thole scored from 9 yards out to put Rush City up again in the third quarter, only for Mesabi East’s Dakota Kruse to return the ensuing kickoff 71 yards for a touchdown and establish the temporary 21-16 lead.

Shaun Archambault ran for 131 yards on 16 carries for Rush City, which has International Falls next Friday before a potential showdown at Moose Lake/Willow River on Oct. 19.

The Giants (1-5) got 143 yards on 26 attempts from Levander.

The Agates got seven rushing touchdowns, three from Tate Nelson and two from Kyler Pitkanen to roll past Pine City on the road Friday.

Pitkanen opened the scoring from 24 yards out, followed by an 8-yard effort from Nelson in the first quarter. Two Harbors took a 27-0 lead into halftime and the doubled it in the third quarter with Pitkanen and Nelson’s other touchdowns and a 41-yard interception return from Trent Gomez.

Deacon Bark and Zach Libal also had TD runs for the Agates (3-3), who ended a three-game losing streak.

A fourth-quarter touchdown from Connor Krueger wasn't enough for the Spartans in their home finale on Saturday at NBC Spartan Sports Complex.

The Raiders took the lead on Jake Busson's 37-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Busson also threw a touchdown pass as the visitors intercepted two Superior passes and took a 24-0 halftime lead.

Superior's Lucas Williams ended Hudson's first drive after the break with an interception of his own but offense was hard to come by for the hosts until Krueger's run with 8:30 to play.

Superior (1-7) concludes the regular season next Friday at Chippewa Falls.

Deshawn Moore scored on a 40-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, but that was all the offense the Hunters could muster in a road defeat that dropped them to 2-4 on the season.

Preston Peterson and Loghan Croal scored two touchdowns apiece for the Vikings (5-1).

Koi Perich had touchdowns receiving, rushing and on a punt return by early in the second quarter as the Eskomos cruised.

Jacion Owens and Javontae Gregory also had two-touchdown games for the 6-0 Eskomos.
