Harley Quinn's fast-paced playstyle in MultiVersus makes her powerful, but hard to control. Here are some tips for how to maximize her potential.

MultiVersus, the new platform fighting game from Warner Bros., has gained a massive amount of popularity in a short amount of time, having already surpassed 10 Million players. Its popularity comes as no surprise when looking at the game's sizable roster of iconic characters from so many different forms of media.

Included in the lineup for MultiVersus are several characters from the popular DC Universe, including the Dark Knight himself, Batman. However, there's another character from Gotham City who deserves just as much attention: the hilarious, hammer-wielding Harley Quinn. As an Assassin-type character, Harley Quinn is light and fast, which might make her harder to control for some players, but she can definitely be worth the work for those who choose to master her style of play.

Harley Quinn's moveset in MultiVersus is all about speed. Her basic ground attacks are fast kicks and swings with a mallet or baseball bat, allowing her to quickly string together several hits in a row. Her downward ground attack is a slide that allows her to dash across the battlefield, either to stay in the action or to escape a sticky situation.

Her basic and sideways aerial attacks are largely more of the same, allowing for Harley Quinn to juggle enemies in midair, where she is strongest. However, her downward aerial attack changes up to become a boxing glove-style projectile that lets her hit enemies far below her. Harley Quinn's upward aerial attack is a grenade launcher that sets up her "Confetti Debuff," which will set Harley Quinn's target on fire after a few hits, dealing passive damage for a short time.

For special attacks, Harley Quinn's upward and sideways specials are more powerful versions of her baseball bat swing and boxing glove projectile attacks, respectively. Her neutral special is a bat plush that doubles as a bomb, pushing enemies back and applying more of the Confetti Debuff once it explodes. Finally, her downward special is somewhat similar to the neutral special but is instead a jack-in-the-box that acts more like a landmine than the manually activated bat plush bomb. While it also provides the Confetti Debuff instead of knocking enemies backward, the jack-in-the-box launches them into the air, opening a window for Harley Quinn to do more midair combos.

Harley Quinn's attacks may be fast and powerful, but this is balanced by her passive ability, called Glass Cannon, which causes her to take 14% more damage compared to other characters on the field. With this in mind, the core strategy for players who use Harley Quinn should be to attack hard and fast when possible, and then quickly evade opponents at the end of the combo before they can strike back. Players can use Harley Quinn's basic downward ground attack for evasion in a tight spot.

Further, players should try to use Harley Quinn's Confetti Debuff whenever possible. As mentioned, once Harley Quinn uses this against an enemy, after a few more hits, they'll catch fire and take passive damage for a short time. Dealing passive damage and evading the opponent until it ends is the dream move of any Glass Cannon character, especially as it is typically activated at the end of a combo.

Finally, Harley Quinn players should move in close and perform a fast combo against their opponent, ideally throwing in a Confetti Debuff during the skirmish. Then back off and allow the passive damage to do its work while evading retaliatory strikes.

As Harley Quinn's biggest weakness is her defense, 2v2 style games can be particularly tricky for players who use her. The "Hit and Run" style of play that makes her most effective in a 1v1 match can actually be a major issue in a 2v2.

Should both players on the enemy team decide to focus on Harley Quinn together, given her high damage output but low defense, there's little that a Harley Quinn player can do before they get cornered or even thrown out of the ring. Therefore, the ideal partners for Harley Quinn in a 2v2 game are the Tank-style characters like Wonder Woman, Superman, or Iron Giant, who can act as a defensive wall for Harley and take some of the heat off her while she continues as the primary damage dealer.
