Joel Silver seeks $75 million for Brentwood mansion-Los Angeles Times

One of Brentwood’s most eye-catching estates was relisted for $75 million after the producer behind blockbuster movies such as Die Hard and The Matrix, Joel Silver, again. It was sold out.

This is $2.5 million less than what he requested last year, but Silver is still chasing record highs. If he gets his price or anything close to it, it will surpass the Brentwood record currently held by Tom Brady, who sold his French chateau to Dr. Brady in 2014 for $40 million. Dre.

Silver is no stranger to blockbuster sales. In 2018, he sold his beach house in Malibu to Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison for $38 million.

His Brentwood home is 25,000 square feet, which is significantly larger—and brighter. Known as the Mexican modernist mansion, this pink residence was built by Mexican architect Ricardo Legorreta, who has handled a number of projects in Southern California, including the $14.5 million redesign of the city of Los Angeles Pershing Square in the center.

The compound occupies 4.5 acres, is located in the guarded entrance enclave of Brentwood Circle, and begins with a lush landscape car court. The square angles mark exterior and interior architectural highlights, including a dining room with a pyramid-shaped ceiling on top and a 30-foot-high family room with hydraulic doors. The most dramatic space appears in the well-lit atrium, with travertine pillars surrounding a reflecting pool.

Elsewhere there are eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms, an office colored with custom murals, a library, a sauna and a custom theater with tiered seating. The roof terrace overlooks the palm-topped grounds and is equipped with a heated dining area and swimming pool.

Silver, 69, has been producing box office blockbusters since the 1970s, including the "Predator", "The Matrix", "Dead Hard" and "Lethal Weapon" franchises. His recent works include "Sherlock Holmes", "Project X" and "The Good Guy".

Jade Mills of Coldwell Banker Realty and Branden and Rayni Williams of Beverly Hills Estates hold the listing rights.
